Over the weekend, I dug up this research on voice/AI called Open Speech Recording which I thought was pretty good open source project in the realm of VUI.
I wanted to prototype with existing sites that would pair well with Speech Recognition like Google Translate. Thinking about a use case of immigrant children who spoke more English than their native language, they can learn how to spell an unfamiliar language in the format like that of a Speak and Spell machine.
The code I used was very crude but I imagine this is how speak and translate-to-spell in a different language could work! It was tough to learn python at the same time so I still needed to rework the code and use a marker like “Ok Google, Translate ‘N Spell this in (insert preferred language) “Good Evening”.
