Facebook is THAT major app that covers most of my messaging, news consumption and productivity needs. As an activity/data tracker, I thought that hijacking facebook as a data collection would be a good fun project.
My thoughts after setting up the AUTOLIKE Userscript:
- I was ready to get spammed and anxious about getting more posts that I really don’t care about
- 50% of things on my feed are brands! or media outlets. This going to mess up the algorithm, and I was going to be sold more.
- I was ready for people to get annoyed.
- I found that people demanded their likes! <– Affirmation of how facebook as a digital product works so well, and at the same time shows how important the LIKE button is as friends seek approval of everything they do or say.
- The autoliker bot likes and unlikes every half a second
Next steps, I am interested to make a platform that does both the hijacking and the dashboard in one!
